Los Unicos Group's story

The "Los Unicos" communal bank is comprised of eight members, six women and two men. The president of the bank is Neidy, who's 34 years old. She has five children who are 15, 13, 5, 2 and 9 years old, and some of them are of school age. She makes and sells various types of pastries in a bakery. She owns a store located in the San Pedro area of the town of Santa Cruz. This is her first loan with the institution. Neidy will use this loan to bake cookies, empanadas and pies. The reason why she requests this loan is the lack of working capital. Neidy faces challenges in her business such as the local competition, and also the need to improve her living conditions. She'll use the profits to increase her production. She feels glad to have been given the opportunity to receive this loan, since this business is her only means of livelihood.
