Norma Isabel

Colombia
Cartagena de Indias, Colombia / Cosmetics Sales

A loan of $1,100 helped to buy a large volume of cosmetics through a promotion.

Norma Isabel's story

Norma is a married woman and the mother of three children. She lives in the city of Cartagena, a place where she has worked as a merchant for many years. At a young age, she began selling merchandise to her friends and now she distributes products to other departments within Colombia because her clientele has grown. Nine years ago, Norma joined Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, an organization that has helped her to grow. She currently handles direct sales by herself, but over time she would like to have a team of salespeople in different neighborhoods of the city and in other departments. Her goals going forward are to finish the renovations to her house and to become the best salesperson of her products on a national level.

Norma is now applying for her first Kiva loan so that she can purchase a large volume of products through a promotion. This will increase her sales and generate more profits, thus turning her Kiva loan into a successful investment.
