Muanu Gbatie Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you members of the “Muanu Gbatie” group. These are small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to request a loan of 800,000 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each in order to invest in their respective businesses.

Tenneh is the featured leader of this group. Tenneh is 40 years old. She is married to a trader, and the couple has three children – one in primary school and two in college. Tenneh sells groundnuts/peanuts. She has requested this loan in order to buy a larger quantity of groundnuts to add to her current stock.
