A loan of $1,200 helped to open a bar.

Rose Bih's story

Rose Bih has been a member of GHAPE for more than three years. She was motivated to join the organization by other members after she was maltreated by her polygamous husband. She was faced with the burden of taking care of her children alone, but after receiving a loan she was able to pay school fees for her children through the profits of her piggery and farming business.

Given a loan of $1000, she will start a new business of selling draft beer. There is a growing demand for this business in her area. She plans to employ two boys to sell beer, which will help her community since there is an unemployment problem.

Rose plans to repay the loan in 24 months. The first repayment will be four months after the date of dispursement.
