Mt Meru Group's story

Janeth, who is in her mid-30s, is single with two kids (a boy and a girl) who are both in school. She has had a grocery business selling soft drinks, water, beer and spirits. She has been in this field for a period of four years and through this work Janeth is able to cover all her family's basic needs together with school fees. She works from 3 p.m. to midnight daily and she is able to make a good profit every month. This is Janeth's 17th loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. With the previous loans, all of which she paid back successfully, she managed to purchase more business stock and opened a new business branch in another place. With the profit received, she paid home expenses and school fees for her kids together while also reinvesting back into her project. She plans to expand her business. She will use this loan to restock more drinks with new brands. She dreams to build a nice house . She will share this loan with her loan group, Mt Meru, which totals 11 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan .
