Silas's story

Silas is a resident of Kitale. He is twenty-seven years old, married, and has four children. He has been a farmer for seven years selling milk, maize and eggs. Besides farming, he has a motorbike business.

He has requested a loan of KES 90,000 from Juhudi Kilimo for the purchase of poultry. By the sale of eggs he will be able to pay school fees and improve the family business. In future, he wishes to have three thousand poultry birds and a posho (cornmeal) mill. The major obstacles are diseases and feed shortage.
