A loan of $1,075 helped to buy frozen treats.

Edita Del Rocio's story

The Bankito Rio Bravo meets every two weeks in the city of Montecristi, a city known for its great diversity of typical products such as toquilla straw hats known within and outside the country.

Edita lives here. She is 33 years old, married, and has three children, ages 10 and 4 years and the youngest is six months old. The oldest attends school. Her husband is an artist. Edita is a very good mother and wife who helps her husband with the family responsibilities. She sells frozen treats from her home and is asking for this loan so that her husband can use it in his work. He makes bricks (used for building houses), which he delivers to nearby merchants who go to his place to pick them up and take them to nearby cities where they are used. She earns some money on her own, which helps them with very much with the household expenses, and above all with their children’s education.

She will use the money from this loan to buy frozen treats to sell, and lumber to make bricks. She has been with the communal bank since near its beginning and she enjoys it because it helps her by giving her loans.

Her dream is to provide the best for her children.
