A loan of $950 helped to buy 2 bags of corn seed, 16 quintals of fertilizer and to pay for workers.

María Belis's story

María is 30 years old. She has a son. She has worked in agriculture since childhood. She learned it from her parents who were homesteaders teaching their children to work in order to help make a living. Today she says that her work is financially viable, and also that she is growing vegetables and wants to expand the farming area.

The agricultural supplies and food for the family is bought in a city that is thirty five minutes from her home but, that is to say, two and a half hours by bus. Transportation is scare and you must wait a long time in order to make the trip.

The loan that she is asking for from Fundación Campo is to buy 2 bags of corn seed, 16 quintals of fertilizer and to pay for workers. With the investment she can avoid some of the trips to the city which will allow her to save; to save and to pay student fees for her son so that he will become a professional and to also expand her production of vegetables.
