A loan of $2,500 helped a member to buy knitting wool for school jerseys.

Shekainer Women's Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 32-year-old Enia from Harare. She is married with four children, three attending school. Enia is in the business of sewing school uniforms and knitting school jerseys. The business has been in operation for 14 years. She says the main challenges faced are that school uniforms are seasonal which means that in the off season the business is very slow. Enia has requested a loan of $500 to buy knitting wool for jerseys for the winter. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will enable her to build her own house and send her children to school without hassles. In the future, Enia plans to have her own uniform shop.
