Harriet's story

Harriet is a single mother of four children who all go to school. She has a beauty salon and has been in this business for four years. She has applied for a loan of 400,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, weaves and braids. She works in a shop that she rents six days out of every week. Her major business challenge includes seasonality and thieves. She aspires to own a bridal salon and also to buy a plot of land and build her own house. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity but no piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
