A loan of $4,975 helped a member buy four baskets of fish.

Uwezo Group's story

Mahene is president of the Uwezo Group. She is a 46-year-old entrepreneur, married and the mother of eight children. Her husband is a seller of fuel (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, etc.).

She is a fish merchant. She started the business using her own funds received from her husband. Later she enjoyed additional credit funding through Hekima's MFI. SHe has been running this business for over eight years.

This new loan will be used to buy four baskets of fish. Rot and damage, lack of cooling, insecurity along the road are major challenges for her activity. She wants to provide schooling for her children.

Finally, she strongly thanks Hekima for its support through micro-financing.
