Amra

A loan of $975 helped to start a business selling clothes.

Amra's story

Amra is 28 years old, married, and living in Jelah. She and her husband have 2 children, who attend primary school. Her husband is a construction worker, and she does some farming to help support them. She sells vegetables to people in her village, and when she has a surplus, she sells her vegetables at the market.

Amra has requested her first loan for $975 to start a clothing business on the side. With the loan, she will be able to purchase a large amount of used clothes from a wholesale retailer, and plans to sell these from door to door in and around her town. She is pictured here with the first batch of clothes she was able to buy. Amra believes that this business will help her earn additional monthly income that she can use to help support her family.
