Sofia's story

Sofía, 61, is single and has three adult, independent children. She lives in her own home with one of her daughters and two grandchildren, who all share the same desire to get ahead.

Sofía works as a seamstress and makes different kinds of clothing, depending on customer orders. She also makes alternations and creates exclusive designs depending on the activity or occasion. At home, which is where she works, she has a good sewing machine. For over 40 years she has been involved in this activity and the quality of her work has improved over the years will all of her experience.

What she enjoys about her work is being able to do something she loves, while also having free time to relax and do other things around the house. She is requesting a loan of 1,000 PEN; and is happy about having access to a line of credit to advance in her work. She is committed to paying back the loan on time so she can continue in the future. She will use the loan to buy fabrics, threads, buttons, needles and elastic to use in her work as a seamstress.
