A loan of $525 helped to buy merchandise.

Santos Mauricio's story

Santos Mauricio lives in the city of Managua. He has had his own business in a busy market in the capital for 17 years. He works seven days a week, with his best sales on the weekend because his business is located in the terminal for the buses that go to the northern part of the country. His wife works in the business; his daughter helps them in the morning and attends school in the afternoon.

He's requesting a loan to invest in buying merchandise, which he buys in accordance with the seasons of the year. Right now he's going to invest in summer clothing and a variety of merchandise to stock his business. The success of Santos's business is to keep it well stocked to sell merchandise to his customers.

Santos is grateful to Kiva and CEPRODEL for the loans granted because they have allowed him to grow in his business and consequently increase his profits and support his family. He pays for his children's education and little by little he has improved his house, because his business is his family's only source of income.
