This is Venus, 35, resident of Malibay, Pasay, Philippines. She is single and works hard to provide income for her everyday needs. Venus also helps her parents and siblings financially. She works as an egg retailer. Basically, Venus buys eggs from wholesalers and then sells them at a little profit. Customers are attracted to her low prices and her regular customers are her neighbors and local community members. Venus earns a minimum of 500 PHP in sales every day.
Venus is requesting a 15,000 PHP loan to purchase additional stocks of eggs. She dreams that her business will continue to grow and she hopes to earn a better living. Venus meets up weekly with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work and draw strength and inspiration from studying the Word of God.
* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners who gather to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
