Ponciana is 62 years old and married with two children. She lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental.
She owns and operates a tailoring service in the local community to earn a living. She has been in this business for over nine years and earns 8,000 PHP every month.
She has been a member of GDMPC since 2010 and now she has requested a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase additional materials for tailoring, such as scissors, needles and threads.
She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
