Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $800 helped to buy an electric oven.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 35 years old, married, and has two children who are 5 and 14 years old and who are in school. She sells fried chicken for a living from her at-home restaurant in El Torno. Elizabeth is a very hardworking person who through determination is little by little gaining stability and solvency and even popularity because she is very well-known to her customers for giving very good customer service. With the money from the loan she will buy an electric oven to make her food. She tells us that with a lot of work she can grow more and keep accruing wealth for her family's and her own well-being. She is happy with the institution and it thankful for the help it has given her.
