Rey is from Clarin, in the province of Misamis Occidental. He is 26 years old and single. To make a living, Rey owns and operates a transportation service. He has had his business for three years and earns 25,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month from these activities.
Rey joined GDMPC in 2010. He is requesting a loan of 35,000 PHP, which he will use to repair his existing vehicle for better service. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
