A loan of $1,175 helped to hire workers for her farmland.

Angelica's story

Angélica, 34 years old, is married to Lucio and has two children with whom she lives in a house built with a base of adobe. She owns some farming land entirely dedicated to the growing of organic cocoa, coffee, and achiote. On the land that she and her husband acquired when very young, relatives get together as good workers in order to obtain excellent quality to recover the capital invested.

Her main disadvantage at the beginning was not having enough capital to plant cocoa on all the land, which is why her financial growth was so small as years went by.

She wants over time to buy additional land and begin to grow muellin since the quality of land she has guarantees a good harvest of this product. This becomes her first loan granted through Kiva and she appreciates the confidence offered and she is committed to making her payments on time.

She is asking for 3,000 soles to hire workers at the site.
