Patricia is 39 years old. She has three children who are 8, 5 and 19 years old. She sells a variety of products. This business is going well for her. This loan is her first with the institution. Patricia lives in the locality of Tiquipaya where basic services and water are scarce. The majority of the time, water is bought from the water wagons that offer water in each area for a modest price. Therefore, she is requesting this loan to construct a bathroom with a water tank, in order to be able to have a water reserve, since one of the principal reasons for the construction of a water tank is to store and distribute the water along with the construction of water pipes that lead to the bathroom, shower and kitchen. This is of great utility, since the water wagons come by once a week and her family is often without water and this basic element is essential in every home. With the construction of this bath, Patricia will greatly improve their quality of life, which is why she is grateful for this opportunity provided to her.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
