A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy merchandise for their business, such as clothing, lingerie, ingredients for meals, jewelry, and other stuff.

Comité Mujeres Luchadoras Group's story

This group was formed in July of 2006. The group contact is Jorgelina López de Valdez, who learned about the Foundation and the program thanks to members of the group “Enterprising Women of Mbachio-Lambare.” The group has 17 members of the neighborhoods Mbachio, San Roque and San Antonio in the city of Lambaré.

This system of credit helps the women know each other as more than just neighbors – as friends. They sell items such as chicken, hamburgers, and sausage in order to raise petty cash together as a group. They are in solidarity with one another.

These women have different types of businesses like grocery stores, small restaurants, clothing sales, home product sales, liquor stores, kiosks, and others. Now, they are requesting a new loan in order to invest in their business.

In this group: Lucia, María, Isidora, Juliana, María, Graciela*, Liliana, Maria, Jorgelina, Martina, Carolina, Juana, María, Ramona, Julia, Sandra, Maria
