A loan of $4,625 helped a member to invest in ingredients to make pastries (flour, sugar, eggs, pots, etc.).

Negociantes Group's story

Negociantes is a group that has gone through five loan cycles. It is composed of six women who are very hard working and want to help their families get ahead. They named the group, Negociantes (Businesswomen) because they have a variety of different businesses.

Noemi is a responsible person. She is married and has two married children, who are 30 and 26 years of age. She is a merchant and has been selling pastries for approximately 20 years. She notes that she greatly enjoys making cakes, cookies, etc. She makes all of them at her house. She will invest this loan in ingredients to fill some orders that she has pending. She tells us that she wants to partner with another member of the group in order to build a special room in one of their houses so that she can fill larger orders.

Noemi volunteers at a church in the town and when there are fairs and markets she also puts her merchandise on sale there.

In this group: Guillermina, Idalia Guadalupe, Josefina, Maria Elizabeth, Maria Faustina, Noemi Guadalupe
