A loan of $425 helped to pay for helpers to clean the pastures and buy quarry stones, cement, and sand.

Concepcion De Jesus's story

Concepción is from the region La Concha outside of Teustepe, married with 4 children that he had with his wife. He only has one under his care, a child of 12 years. He works sewing corn, beans, and wheat. He also obtains income by renting a cattle pasture. He started working in agriculture when he was 15 years old. He was a farmhand then, and he saved the money he earned, and in that way he purchased his small plots of land and the cows that he possesses.

For all of Concepción's work sewing corn, beans, and wheat, he does it on his own. Sometimes one of his children helps him, or he pays for a helper. He sells his harvest in the same region. Today Concepción needs this loan in order to pay for helpers to clean the pastures and buy quarry stones, cement, and sand to make a parapet. The loan will help him because he will no longer have to go very far to bring water for drinking and giving to his cattle. One of his future plans is to use the profits perhaps to buy a water pump in order to take water out of the well.
