A loan of $300 helped to buy 15 sheets and 333 brooms.

Djeneba's story

Djeneba is 44 years old, married and mother to 6 children. She lives in a traditional family in the Hamdallaye neighborhood of Ségou (fourth administrative region of the republic of Mali).

A teacher in a Koranic school, she also manages income generating businesses which she started with her mother who sold items coming from Mecca (incense, scarves, rosaries, etc.). After several years at her side, she began to develop alone by managing the sale of sheets and brooms. She has been managing this business for 15 years and enjoys a great experience and clientele. Her strength in sales is due to the quality of her merchandise which comes from Burkina Faso.

Due to the concern of satisfying the demands of her clientele, she is requesting this loan. She has been in a relationship with Soro Yiriwaso for 12 months after her 1st individual loan which was correctly repaid. She is on her 2nd individual loan which she plans to use to buy 15 sheets and 333 brooms. She gets her supplies in Burkina Faso.

Djeneba sells for cash and credit to a mixed clientele. With this loan, she envisions making a monthly profit of 70,000 FCFA, which will allow her to repay her loan and to ensure the continued existence of her business. Her ambition is to build a house for habitation.
