A loan of $1,000 helped to buy 60 large watches and 5 cartons of teapots.

Mouritala's story

Madam Mouritala is 31 years old, married and mother to 4 children. She lives in a nuclear family in the Darsalam neighborhood of Ségou (fourth administrative region of the republic of Mali).

Not having gone to school for social reasons, she became interested in income-generating businesses very early with her parents who specialized in the sale of Nigerian items, where they come from. After several years at their side, she decided to progress alone by managing the business of buying and selling a variety of items for 8 years. Her strength in sales is due to her mastery of the parts of this business and especially due to her affordable prices.

Due to the concern of satisfying her clientele, she is requesting this loan. She has been in a relationship with Soro Yiriwaso for 35 months, after 5 individual loans which were all correctly repaid. She is on her 6th individual loan which she plans to use to buy 60 large watches and 5 cartons of teapots. She gets her supplies in Lagos and sells for cash and credit to a mixed clientele.

With this loan, she envisions making a monthly profit of 100,000 FCFA, which will allow her to repay her loan and to ensure the continued existence of her business. Her ambition is to build a house for habitation.
