Saima Group
In this Group: Saima, Musarat
Saima is 32 years old and a hardworking and diligent woman. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan along with her husband, two daughters, and a son. Her husband is a government employee, but his income is insufficient to meet the household expenses. Both of her children are studying in government schools.

Saima is an efficient beautician by profession. Since 2006, she has been operating her own beauty salon. Currently, the beauty stock of the salon is almost finished. Therefore, Saima wants to purchase cosmetic products to continue her business. For that, as a member of a 2-person lending group, she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan, to purchase beauty products like facial creams, lipsticks, scrubs, makeup kits, hair colours, and some other variety of products. She would also buy some new chairs for her salon. With the profits, she will pay the installments of the loan and school fees for her children.

She dreams of living a happy, healthy, and peaceful life with her family. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for their support.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
