A loan of $1,450 helped to purchase wood for the upcoming season.

Javzanpagma's story

Javzanpagma is a 36-year-old hardworking and very trusted repeat Kiva client. She lives with her family in a ger (a traditional Mongolian felt tent) in the suburbs of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Her husband is a driver in a private company, having worked for a public transportation company for nine years. Javzanpagma has a 7-year-old son who goes to kindergarten and a 16-year-old daughter in secondary school.

Javzanpagma started her business in 2004 by selling building materials at Tsaiz, Mongolia's biggest raw materials outdoor market, with a working capital of 2,000,000 MNT. In 2007, she bought a semiautomatic cutting machine for 3,000,000 MNT to produce firewood. Javzanpagma buys raw materials from the wood truck which comes from the countryside and sells the firewood. As a result of her hard work, she now has working capital of 8,500,000 MNT. Spring is the high shopping season in Mongolia for the wood-selling business, so Javzanpagma is requesting a loan of 2,000,000 MNT to buy more wood.
