Bernard is a 36-year-old, married man who lives in Kagadi, Uganda. He is a secondary school teacher, but he also started a produce business after realizing that the meager salary he earns on a monthly basis can hardly meet his family's basic needs.

Inadequate capital is his major challenge. His dreams are building a permanent house for his family and owning a food store that can supply his customers all year round. Bernard intends to use the loan to buy maize, beans and groundnuts to resell.
