Beatrice is from the town of Kisauni. She is married and has two children, who are always with her and who help her. Beatrice has been working as a dressmaker for ten years. Her husband bought her an industrial sewing machine that she uses to make clothes in general. She also gets help from her husband, who works in order to cover family expenses and schooling costs for their children. She’s requesting this loan to buy fabric, zippers and thread, which she will use to make various items to sell.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
