A loan of $525 helped a member to lease more plots of farmland to grow rubber.

Channa's Group's story

Channa, 45, lives in one of the remote areas of the Tabung Khmum district of Kampong Cham province. She has four children, some of whom are dependent on her and still in school.

To support this family, she and her husband have been growing rubber trees as their main source of income. She has been in this business for 45 years, and she is able to save KHR 22,000 per day. This is the second loan for Channa’s group with VisionFund. She used her first loan successfully in improving her living conditions. She is now leading her group to ask for a loan of 1,000,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to lease more plots of farmland to grow rubber trees. She hopes this loan will enable her to plant rubber trees in a timely way so as to improve her family's living conditions.
