Melva Del Carmen

Nicaragua
Boaco, Nicaragua / General Store

A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase sugar, oil, rice, beans, vegetables, clothing, cosmetics, cleaning products, bath soaps, toilet paper, etc.

Melva Del Carmen's story

Melva is 51 years old. She is married with four independent children. She owns a general store in the Las Banderas district on the outskirts of Teustepe. She started with capital given to her by her husband who works as a salesman selling stones for construction. Her first products were sugar, vegetables, beans, oil, and rice. Now, she sells soda, detergent, bleach, and soap. She needs to stock her general store daily because this type of business is scarce in this community. She is requesting the loan to purchase sugar, oil, rice, beans, vegetables, clothing, cosmetics, cleaning products, bath soaps, toilet paper, etc. She wishes to continue improving her business and make it more stable so that she can cover part of the food needs of her customers.
