A loan of $250 helped to buy sugar, baking flour, frying oil and cereals etc.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is a resident of Mombasa, Kenya. She is a married mother of one child and runs a food cafe, which has been in operation for four years. The family also obtains some income from the husband's employment. She employs three other people in the business.

Elizabeth was introduced to Milango by her friends and is asking for a loan of 21,050 Kenyan shillings to buy sugar, baking flour, frying oil and cereals etc. The current challenge is the overall inflation.

Despite the high level of bad debts, Elizabeth believes she can save the extra income for the education of her children, provide a means of income to the other employees and also use part of the money to open a larger cafe/restaurant.
