A loan of $525 helped to buy furniture for her business.

Rosario Elizabeth's story

Rosario Elizabeth is a 26 year-old entrepreneur from Monterrey, Mexico. Born in the city of Monterrey, she is the youngest of three children born of the marriage between Maria del Rosario (her mother) and Juan (her father).

With much encouragement and support from her parents, she completed her primary studies at the school in her neighbourhood. She completed high school at the Polytechnic # 60. During high school she became interested in becoming a great stylist and she decided to enrol in the Rivera Institute of Beauty located in the city centre. There she trained for two years in order to complete her studies. Later she offered her services at Estetika Stilo (a chain of beauty salons) where she worked for nearly a year.

Her aunt Esperanza, with whom she is very close, encouraged her to start her own business at home. Beginning with very little furniture - a chair, a small mirror, and a pair of scissors - she began to offer haircuts in her neighbourhood.

At the moment, she has a large clientele, which is why she has decided to request a loan to acquire more furniture. This will enable her to offer better service, to increase profits and to continue growing as a small business, as well as to continue helping her parents. Her dream is to have her own premises and to establish several branches.
