A loan of $975 helped to purchase maize and rice millet for milling.

Vincent's story

Vincent is 55 years old and lives in the town of Nakifuma in the Mukono region of Uganda. He is married and has eight children.

For the past 10 years, Vincent has been working hard to manage his small milling business, which has a milling machine.

To help expand his business, Vincent has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase maize and rice millet for milling and will help Vincent to generate greater profits and improve his family's standard of living.

Vincent hopes that in the future he will be able to buy a cow and start up a milk business.

Vincent is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Vincent who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
