A loan of $800 helped a member to buy ingredients including flour and rice for her Khmer noodle-selling business.

Yan's Group's story

Yan, an inhabitant of Kror Kor district in Pursat Province, is 47 years old and a widow. To tackle the family’s hardship, she grows rice and sells Khmer noodles. Having been in this business for ages, she is able to earn up to 13,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) per day. Yan is a two-cycle client of VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has completely repaid her past loan, which helped her to set aside some money to start up a new business. The total amount of the group's loan is 3,100,000 KHR. As the group leader, Yan will use her portion to buy more ingredients including flour and rice for her Khmer noodle-selling business. She strongly believes that she can make more income and maintain her lifestyle.
