A loan of $425 helped a member to build a decent latrine.

Sang's Group's story

Sang, age 53 and married, is a silk weaver living in Takeo Province. Besides her handicraft business, she also helps her husband to grow rice on two hectares during her spare time. Her current business earns her about 17,600 riels (KHR) per day.

This is the fourth cycle for Sang with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). From the past loan, which she has fully paid back, she feels so empowered to relieve her family's hardships and strengthen both her businesses in a gradual manner. Now she has formed a group of two to apply for a new loan. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to build a decent latrine for her household. She hopes to own a proper latrine to improve sanitation practice for her family.
