A loan of $775 helped a member to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland.

Nary's Group's story

Nary and her husband are farmers who grow rice and cassava in the area to make a living. She and her husband have been in this business for twenty-five years, and they can earn about 40,000 KHR per day, but Nary can manage to save about 15,000 KHR each day after offsetting daily expenses.

This is the second microloan for Nary with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. She completely paid back the past loan, which has helped her to relieve her family’s burden and improve their livelihood. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan.

Nary, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to get a high crop yield from her rice and cassava planting, so as to sell them for a good price.
