A loan of $1,600 helped to buy provisions.

Rocio Guadalupe's story

Avance y Desarrollo Communal Bank meets every two weeks in Junín Canton, a place known for its friendly and hardworking people and because this is where they distill the best liquor in the province and in Ecuador.

This is where Guadalupe lives. She's 19 years old and single, and lives in her parents' house. She's a very hardworking young woman who's getting the loan to help her parents by investing it in the family business.

They have a restaurant downtown where she and her mother prepare various dishes. A lot of people go to their place every day to eat their delicious food. They make breakfast and lunch, and on the weekend they also make supper. The dish their customers prefer is the shellfish soup. Their customers prefer them because of their delicious meals and their customer service.

This loan is to buy provisions to prepare the dishes.

She has been in the communal bank for more than a year and she likes it because the loans are a big help. Her dream is to get a college education, which she hasn't been able to do because she doesn't have enough money.
