Lucio's story

Lucio is 66. He lives in the marvelous city of Pucallpa. Pucallpa is known to be a very beautiful city, as it is located in the Peruvian rainforest and is home to gorgeous flora and fauna. It is a city in which one can appreciate the marvels of nature and be free of the hustle and bustle of the city. What's more, the residents are very kind and generous.
When he has free time, Lucio enjoys going for walks and, above all, going to his church. He also enjoys eating his favourite food, the rich Ceviche. Because of economic reasons, he was only able to stay in school until grade four. He would have liked to have a university career.
Day to day, Lucio works in his small shoe repair business. He works approximately ten hours per day and can see up to 15 customers. He thinks that this business is going well for him because he always works with a good attitude and great enthusiasm.
Lucio is very grateful to the Kiva lenders. This is the second time he is receiving their support. This time he will be able to buy construction materials in order to lay flooring in his home; there are a lot of tourists in this season and he will be able to rent out some rooms to them. His quality of life will improve, and he will be able to increase his income and keep working in order to achieve his greatest dream: "Having a shoe factory".
