Masaya, Nicaragua / Fruits & Vegetables

A loan of $2,025 helped a member to purchase in-season fruits such as eight trees' worth of mangoes.

Solangi Group's story

These are enterprising partners who formed a communal bank comprised of three members. One of them is 55-year-old María, who's single and has a son. She has been buying in-season fruit crops for 20 years, and she's been a client of the institution for two years. She'll use the loan to purchase in-season fruits such as eight trees' worth of mangoes during the Holy Week. This product is very appetising to our society and it's used as a delicacy for making traditional dishes such as fruit syrup. Lizet is another member. She's 45 years old and her business is selling new clothing. Cinthya is 24 years old and her business is selling vegetables.
