A loan of $400 helped to purchase food products such as rice, sugar, oil, and other items.

Maria's story

María is 36 years old. She lives with her husband Crisanto. Together they have three small children who live in the house they have rented for ten years.

Since she was young, María learned that she could only succeed with a lot of effort and dedication since nothing is impossible in life. When she started her family, she did not want to stop working, but she came and went on trips since she was a merchant. When her children arrived, she decided to open a business in her home. She decided to start a business selling food since her living room was large and perfect for the project. She also sells certain food products, like a small store. She has had this business for more than three years and works almost without resting. Her husband helps her a lot, especially when she has to do something important and has to leave the store.

This is her eighth loan with Kiva. She is very happy with the financial support she has received to continue with her plans. She promises to be punctual with her repayments.

María will invest the 1000 soles she has requested in the purchase of staple products needed to make her dishes such as rice, sugar, oil, noodles, milk, and other items.
