A loan of $400 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Rosana's story

41-year-old Rosana is married to Venancio. The couple have three children but only live with one of them. They live in their own home.

Rosana's business is growing potatoes, beans, peas, corn and greens such as lettuce. She has been in this business for 26 years and works together with her husband. Her husband often prefers her to stay home preparing food but she enjoys being out in the fields. The couple own their own land and also rent some land which they plant to make a decent income. This enables them to cover their household expenses. They also use the money to educate their children and, most importantly, they save some of it. In the future, Rosana plans to sow a larger quantity of crops. She also plans to re-open a grocery store that she used to run.

This is Rosana's fifth loan from Kiva. She has shown herself to be a responsible person and pledges to maker her loan repayments on time.

Rosana will invest the 1,000 soles she has requested in buying organic fertilizers to feed her crops.
