Although she has received no formal education, Adjoa is an entrepreneur. She operates a petty trading business in Ekumfi-Twa (near Cape Coast). She has been involved in this enterprise for five years.
Adjoa is married and has four children. Her husband works as a farmer. The proceeds from her business normally go towards helping her husband cover the family’s general expenses and paying their children’s school fees.
Adjoa will use the loan to purchase increased amounts of petty goods, thus aiding her to improve her overall sales. With the new profits from her expanded business, Adjoa plans to further diversify the type of products that she sells, hence adapting to changing customer preferences.
