Even though Kojo grew up in poverty without an education, this has not stopped him from fulfilling his dream of achieving a better life for him and his family.
Currently, Kojo is an entrepreneur. He sells charcoal in Ekumfe-Twi (near Cape Coast). His business enterprise has grown substantially since he began 15 years ago. He uses the income from his business to help his wife raise their six children.
Kojo has identified that there are growing demands among consumers for his product. Nevertheless, he is unable to meet their needs due to limited inventory capacity. Thus he aims to use his loan to purchase more firewood to recover additional quantities of charcoal to sell. With the new profits from his expanded business, Kojo wants to buck the trend by ensuring that all his children will be given the opportunity to further distance their family from poverty.
