A loan of $3,925 helped a member to buy a deep freezer to help sell more cold drinks.

Juhudi Group's story

Mwanahawa, who is in her early 40s, is single, with three children, of whom only one goes to school. The other two children are still small. Mwanahawa has been a food vendor for five years now. She works from 5.00 am to 5.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Mwanahawa's second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy more chairs, increase her food stock, and improve upon her selling place by repairing the floor. She has successfully paid back her loan. She used the profit to cover household expenses and school fees.

Mwanahawa will use this loan to buy a deep freezer to help sell more cold drinks. Her dream is to one day be able to own a big restaurant.

Mwanahawa will share this loan with her loan group, 'Juhudi Group,' with 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Mwanahawa, Mariam, Haika, Jesca, Fatuma, Nasra, Zaina, Khalifani, Mohamedi, Saidi, Juma, Happy, Fatuma, Rehema, Theresia
