A loan of $900 helped a member to buy ingredients for making porridge to sell.


Pov's Group's story

Pov, age 46, is a local resident from the Sampov Meas district of Pursat Province. She has eight children in total, three of whom are still in school. To support this big family, she makes and sells porridge, and grows rice on three hectares of land. She is able to earn up to 21,400 KHR per day from the current businesses. She has been with these businesses for 20 years.

This is Pov's second loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has succeeded in paying back her past loan wisely, and she managed to use it to improve her business. Now, she leads a group of four, to apply for a new loan. The total amount of her group loan is 3,500,000 KHR. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to buy ingredients for making porridge. She hopes to earn more income for her family.
