A loan of $1,175 helped to invest in acquiring goods.

Maria's story

Maria is a 41-year old woman from the state of Queretaro. She arrived to Monterrey with her husband 25 years ago and they acquired a piece of land in the highest part of a hill in the north west area of the city (called Lomas de la Uidad Modelo). This is where they started to build their home. Five years later, her husband passed away and she had to get ahead and support her 4-year old daughter. She was selling sweets and candies at Aztlan Ave., near a well-known mall called Valle de Topo Chico. Maria was able to support her daughter and today she actually helps her with the business. One year ago, she decided to start a new business selling natural products ("Club Naturista"), where she prepares shakes to clients daily and invites pedestrians to try her products. The requested loan will help her to increase her income, buying different products to sell inside her club. With this additional income, she plans to buy her own space (instead of borrowing it) and to provide a better service while also keeping to create a patrimony for her daughter.
