Apolonia's story

Apolonia is a 35-year old woman who is married and has two children. She lives with them in her wooden house, which she built with a lot of effort. Apolonia makes a living from selling food, an activity that she chose when, at the meetings held on weekends in her town, she realized it was a good job opportunity. She sells small portions of the most popular dishes in her area, such as rice with chicken and noodles, and obtains good income.

She used to work in organic cocoa production before, using plots she had acquired after many years of work. However, she had a minor accident while doing her daily job tasks and was separated from productive activities for a long period. Having the obligation to support her family, she decided to start her current business and found a new way to earn a living. She rents out her plots to other producers so that they are not inactive.

In spite of adversities, she wants to work with the motivation that characterizes her and to make true her dream of opening a restaurant or a store in her town. This is her second loan with MFP and she's thankful again for the renewed trustworthiness. She commits to responsibly pay her installments, and is requesting 1,000 nuevos soles to buy rice, sugar and other supplies for her business.
