A loan of $1,175 helped to buy garri, beans, groundnuts, and bennie seed for her business.

Fanta's story

This is 39-year-old Fanta. She is married and has four children, ages 25, 17, 15, and 8 years.

In 1995, she established her garri [cassava flakes], beans, groundnut [peanuts], and bennie seed [sesame seed] business. She began her business because she wants to fight poverty and also to help her husband run the home and adequately care for the children. Working seven days a week and 11 hours a day, she earns about SLL 1,200,000 (leones) every month from this business.

Fanta would like a loan of SLL 5,000,000. She requires a loan in order to buy more foodstuffs for her business. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately SLL 400,000. She thanks you for your support.
