A loan of $2,925 helped a member to buy clothing.

Twumvire Group's story

The Twumvire group is made up of 39 women and 4 men. Triphonie, Violette, Pascasie, and Judith were unable to make it for the photo on the day they got their loan, so they are represented by their respective husbands: Berchmans, Janvier, Remy, and Leopold.

Sicaire is the head of the group and lives in Kayanza. He is 43 years old and married to Beatrice, who is a farmer. Together they have seven children, aged from 1 to 16 years old. Five of the children go to school. Sicaire has been a tailor for 26 years and sells pants that he makes out of clothing. He is on his 10th loan from Turame. With this Kiva loan, he is going to increase his capital to buy many clothes, which he will make into pants and then resell, allowing him to earn more. In the coming years, Sicaire would like to sell [his clothes] in a shop and see his children go to school.
